hi res scans of vinyl

Hey everyone. I am ripping my records to 24/96 files and saving them as .aif files. Sadly, there is no meta data with the files, so I have to manually select them from Windows Media Player. I would appreciate hearing from other people who are doing this sort of thing. Please tell me what file type you are using and what player to organize your library. That sort of thing.

Thanks!

Michael wonders why the choice between the standard wide -bandwidth RIAA or the 1976 IEC curve which rolls of the response below 50 Hz and is (only ?) useful for rumbly turntables.

Bits is bits and other audio aphorisms.

I have to admit to thinking that "bits is bits."

Trouble is, I only believe it when they are standing still.

It's when ya try to move those pesky bits from one place to another and get them all to arrive together in real time that the trouble starts.

I also believe the first watt is the most important one and that preamps are more crucial to the signal than amplifiers.

What aphorisms do you stand behind?
