Inverting polarity

My current DAC allows me to invert polarity. I've found that inverting polarity has a significant effect on certain CDs while little on others. I'm very careful with all connections in my system and do not think there's a problem with the hardware. I do not see a trend happing either, it's not like 90% of my collection sounds better inverted or not. I find that I have to check it CD to CD.
Most of my collection is rock with some acoustic artists in the mix.

HDTracks

Wes Phillips previously wrote about Chesky's HDTracks.

Full resolution DRM-free downloads of entire CDs or individual tracks, complete with cover art and liner notes.

I downloaded the free demo tracks. The interface is slick and easy, the music excellent and the sound superb.

This is an endeavor worth supporting if you want CD quality and better available as downloads.

JA's follow-up on ARC REF 3 Preamp

Forums

I've been trying to find JA's follow-up to the ARC REF 3 review. I thought he was going to write a follow-up on his findings after he inserted it in his reference system, which if I remember correctly consists of Levinsons 33H monoblocks and a 390s.

I went through my past printed issues at home and searched the on-line archives, couldn't find it.

Did this follow-up take place??

I was curious of his thoughts about the synergy between the REF3 and the rest of his Levinson gear.

Listening is Love

Listening is Love

Similarly, hi-end audio is a selfless act. We are workers for the world of music and its performers. The thousands of dollars that audiophiles spend on monstrous loudspeakers and thick, slick cables are not shameless self-indulgences, but expressions of grand devotion to the recreation of an expression, an emotion, a feeling! To truly take someone's words to heart. To find yourself in someone else's soundstage. To give yourself away and believe in somebody else's dreams instead of your own.

Whole Lotta Sammy

Whole Lotta Sammy

These days I often have to stop myself and remember again that I need to write about music and not just the incredibly weird situation in which today's music business is both dying and rising from the ashes simultaneously.
