As I'm starting to acquire audio gear and a music collection that total thousands of dollars (and a great percentage of my disposable income), I'm starting to think about insurance. Like many NYC dwellers, I rent an apartment. Does anyone know whether some kind of renters insurance would cover my gear and/or music?

If you recognize the user-ID, you probably associate it with a litany of posts about trying to get rid of an unpleasant dryness, a sort of "reedy" sound in my system, that I've been logging-in to write about, over and over again, for years.

Utah hangs on, and wins the game 31-17. They sack Alabama QB John Parker Wilson 8 times (never play football if you have 3 names... but that's the way of the good ol' boys, I guess -- Yee, haw! Billy Joe Bob and Jimmy Joe John, time to slop the hawgs...).

I Recently ran across a single horizontal arrayed speaker in excellent condition. It appears to be a rather quality piece of work by its looks, and surprisingly it sound exceedingly good, which was a surprise.
The only markings on the box are a round paper label with L.E.E. Incorporated, Washington D.C.. And, impressed on the back into the wood is: 115L123X=35 No other markings except for a stylized logo on the front of LEE.

I gotta say, Nottingham 294 was one of the most musical tables I'd heard when I was auditioning (and I've had the opportunity to listen to a lot of TTs... and many of 'em exponentially more expensive than the Notty) Learned from pinkfishmedia that Tom Fletcher, the designer & basically the engine of NAS, is no longer with Nottingham, but will make TTs on his own. VERY interesting.

So my parents gave me ~60-80 of their old records, that were unfortunately stored in the attic

Most of them are pretty badly warped. I know furutech makes an lp flattener, but at $1900, I can't afford it.

So does anyone know of a company I can send these of to to be flattened etc.

Hi everyone.

I want to add a bit of "warm tubish" sound to my system, but I don't feel like replacing my current integrated amp at the moment. Would it be a good idea to add a tube preamp before my integrated amp? I am thinking of getting something used in the 500-1000$ range.

Here is my current setup (mainly for music):

Speakers: Paradigm Studio 20s v3
Amp: Rega Brio
Sources: Sony SCD-CE595 (SACD-CD), and PC with semi-pro sound card.
