Blue Note Rudy VanGelder Remasters

Forums

I just wanted to let my fellow jazz fans know that the reissued Rudy VanGelder masters are outstanding recordings. I am currently listening to a Stanley Turrentine recording called "That's where it's at" and one would be surprised to learn that this recording is over 40 years old but then again that is what happens when you have a great engineer recording sessions.

You people in New York City

You guys got a visitor. A 747 with a fighter chase plane. Christ, what were they thinking? If I was responsible for not one but two different 747s I would know where they are at all times. One of the stupidest things I have seen a president even remotely responsible for. What an idiot. It's something like I would get banned for crying out loud. But I would do it because I'm such a prankster. "It was just a joke!"

The Real

The Real

I hope all you dudes are enjoying the same sort of sweaty sweet record-breaking weather we're experiencing here in NYC this week (until tomorrow when it gets cold again).

Holy cow! Guess who's a Democrat! Forget Hello Kitty...Hello Sixty!

Yikes!

Specter is a Democrat!

Who's next, Hatch?

(I happen to be a liberal who really likes Hatch, by the way.)

When was the last 60-40? Mid-70's?

I don't think a super majority is such a great thing to happen, and it's my party that did it. I like the compromises necessary to make for balanced legislation.

60-40?

Can you say, "Supreme Court Justice Jello Biafra?" (Too bad GG Allin is dead, eh?)

This says it all

" Fox Broadcasting Company announced Monday it will not carry President Barack Obama's prime time press conference marking his first 100 days in office, the first time a broadcast network has refused an Obama administration request for that valuable airtime.

The network will instead carry its regularly scheduled episode "Lie to Me," according to its Web site."

NIIICE!!!

This comes up a lot - an entry level system for under $500

Many college kids come up on these forums and ask: "What should I get for my dorm room for under $1,000 and sometimes under $500". Up until now, I reserved making any recommendations as I felt that this is not a reasonable amount for a decent sounding system.

I have stumbled upon gold, or at least entry level gold.
