ANTHEM

Forums

One thing about this hobby I love, is that there are still a few companies who make products that approach the state of the art, have al the necessary features, codecs, etc. and do not charge in the stratsphere for their products. Bravo for Anthem. Their new preamp-processor looks to be excellent, like the rest of their products.

RANDY WESTON

I`m sure you guys are familar with this one. Where you have a particular lp, that you and your friends believ is classic, but it seems next to impossible to find. Then, one day you look on Amazon, and there it is!!
For those of us that remember the glory days of CTI and its sister label KUDU, comes now finaally as a Japanese import - Blue Moses by Randy Weston. Classic music and arrangement. Freddie, Grover, and Hubert doing their thing, and the recording is clean and crisp. To

me, a must have!!

Yes, I'm a Newby

I bought my stereo back in 1980, a Pioneer system. I won't go digital so don't try to talk me into it. I love my system a PL-560 auto turntable with TX 6500 tuner and a SA 6500 amp. with 2 XD-10 3 way speakers. I have been looking to upgrade the speakers but can't find the Ones. I can't be the only one here thats too stuborn to change and I don't want to. I feel analog really isn't dead and its making its way back. I wish I could actually work on this stuff in the Cent. IL area.

Your own personal break in period.

Aloha,

You know how people mention that gear needs to warm up (in a given listening session) or break in (longer term) to allow us to hear its true sonic performance? You think the same is true of you?

If you notice a system changes its sound as it reaches a steady state, in your opinion, what part of that might be you?

Do your ears warm up as you listen, does your acuity seem to improve, decline?

Example: Turn on system, sounds a certain way, then as the system 'settles in,' you notice a difference. Is it all the system, or is it also you?
