Phono pre amp and more

I have a pioneer elite vsx56txi with built in phono is this good or should I get say a cambridge audio phono preamp? I have a Rega P2 with the bias cartridge. Also any suggestions for finding a glass platter for this table? Last but not least would I need shims if I were to put a ortofon 2m red or blue cartridge on this?
