Not that I indulge, but I find this article in The Economist on cannabis fascinating—and depressing. Despite our FDA's recent findings that cannabis has no medical value when smoked (a charge motivated more by our "War on Some Drugs" than the facts, it seems), researchers are increasingly finding more ways in which it may be beneficial.Well, researchers living elsewhere—there have been no clinical studies here, and the DEA won't let any take place. You don't have to advocate legalizing pot to think it's bizarre to issue a "scientific" statement that a substance has no proven value when you don't allow the studies that might prove it (or disprove it, for all we know) to take place.
