My mind is filled with audio components. I guess that's what a show does to you.
Besides all of the individual pieces of equipment that have suddenly made my wish list, I have a couple of ideas for full systems which I think might be fun. For instance, I think I'd like to "go green," as they say, starting with a pair of bamboo speakers and, taking a cue from Red Wine Audio's Vinnie Rossi, I might even leap off-the-grid with some battery-powered electronics. Wouldn't that be cool? My energy bill has been way too high, anyway. Screw you, PSE&G.
Before that, however, the forum has been busy with new members searching for recommendations on The Wonderful $1000 System, and, it just seems to me that I, as forum moderator, am obliged to give them what they need. And so, the idea is:
I'll come up with some giant-killing pieces of gear that'll add up to one wonderfully musical and bargain-priced hi-fi system.
Or two. Add up to one or two wonderfully musical, etcetera.
Perhaps it is my destiny to become the world's foremost scholar on off-the-grid and $1000 hi-fi systems. Who knows?
However, I'd like to stress that these are only ideas. I'd also like to write a novel and open a book store. Ideas come and go. I'm not making any promises. But I've already found the speakers. The PSB Alpha B1 and Aperion Audio Intimus 532 are total killers.
