The 2025 Florida International Audio Expo Starts Friday

Join Stereophile in Tampa as Mark Henninger, Ken Micallef, and Julie Mullins scope the warm weather and cool gear at this year's Florida International Audio Expo. Our coverage commences on Friday, so if you can't be there in person you can follow the action here.

The Florida International Audio Expo is gearing up for its seventh year, taking place from February 21 to 23, 2025—this time at a fresh, new venue: the Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel, located at 10221 Princess Palm Ave in Tampa. The expo offers a wide selection of high-end audio products.

The event isn’t just about products, though. Live musical performances and presentations from guest speakers add educational and entertaining elements.

Show hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday and tickets are available online.

Turntables galore, reel-to-reel and cassettes making a comeback. All these sources made sense back when masters where recorded in the analog domain. Now? Not so much. How do the digital recordings of your favorite vinyls sound? Loosing any of the micro dynamics and extension from the master recording? Of course you are. Can't your ears tell you that you're only getting part of the music from the studio? I can.

It makes sense if you think about how the number of audiophiles is decreasing so the companies that cater to them has to get ones that are left to pay more to survive.
