I'm kind of a nostalgic type of person and some of the audio components coming out today to me are simply "crap" especially in the turntable area, their just cookie cutter plastic assembly line trash. I like the older stuff, hand made, wood cabinet and finished which brings me to my question. I want a turntable, something reliable and something that won't have me getting a loan at my local bank. I've seen the Denon PL59's which look phenomenal, does anyone have any other suggestions for other turntables and how they perform?

On October 1, 1905, Czech worker Frantisek Pavlik was killed during a demonstration. Leos Janacek was so affected by the incident that he hurriedly wrote his one and only piano sonata. But as the well-known story goes, he burnt the third movement before anyone could play it, and threw the first two movements into the Vltava after the first private performance. Fortunately, the pianist copied the score, so now everyone can hear this undoubted and unqualified masterpiece.

It's no secret that for-profit audio publications rely heavily on advertising revenue in order to remain profitable and financially solvent. However, unlike (for example) peer-reviewed medical journals, in which the authors of published scientific papers are required to fully disclose any financial links or funding from the pharmaceutical industry, etc., the audio reviewing industry seems to be free from any such ethical or financial disclosures.

I have the November issue and was looking forward to reading your follow up on the Peak Consult Empress speakers. Where the heck is it? TOC says it's on P.70, but it's not there. Please advise!

just wanted to know if anyone here has a pair of epicure 3.0's its always good to meet ohter people that own these fine speakers to me the best i ever heard

I have a large collection of LP's, mostly classical, which I would like to burn on to CD's. Can anyone tell me what equipment, either stand-alone or something that I can connect to my computer, I will need to do this?
