I want to sell my 9s locally.ebay and audiogon last resort.I really dont want to sell them but I'm in a townhouse and there to big.I've put up flyers at music stores,vinyl conventions,and other places.any ideas???????

Does anyone have a serious reference to the error code used in the CD standard? I'd like to know things like:

how many error bits can it detect and correct?

what happens when the number of error bits exceeds the correction code?

I am better off using long runs of XLR cables, i.e. 25 to 30 ft, from a Balanced preamp to my monoblocks OR short runs of xlr and then speaker cable? I am trying to decide whether to keep my amps in a rack or to use amp stands next to my speakers.

Well it seems that most, if not all, of my previous attempts to stir up some interest in what's going on right under our noses over at archive.org regarding the advancement of high end audio has fallen on deaf ears (or is that blind eyes?).

For speakers which can accept 2 amps (4 speaker posts) what is the generally accepted fact as to the set-up which yields the best sound. Is it using 2 monoblock amps to power each speaker or is it using 2 amps which are 2 channel each and having each amp power the "lower" set of speaker posts in both speakers and doing the same with the other 2 channel amp for the "upper" set of speaker posts. Sorry if I don't have the lingo down exact. Your guidance will help me determine what equipment to purchase next. Thank you.

Has anyone heard when new Magnepan models can be expected? Is there a chance for true ribbon version of 1.6?

I find it somewhat bemusing that JA brushed off the Chord amplifiers inability to meet it's power output specification - at any load resistance.
Admittedly JA measured about 500W/8ohms - more than enough for most any application - but the manufacturer claims double that and Paul Bolin's text claims "it is very conservatively rated at 1Kw into 8ohms".
If I bought a 100W amplifier and it only produced 50W I'd be a bit pissed off - yeah, it's only 3db extra but you've payed for that.
