I'm sorry if this sounds dumb , but I have an old Sasui Dp-500 turntable that I'd like to use again , and I can't for the life of me figure out how to power it up.
Its got 2 cables coming out of it. 1 is two red/white RCA cables which I know what to do with , and the other is a seperate strange-looking plug ( looks kinda like a DC power plug-but its not)
Help?

I use my laptop to access and play mp3s directly from my desktop computer via a wireless network. I have tried WMP and Winamp. Both applications seem not to buffer while playing these network files. The player buffer settings are correct, but buffering does not occur. Consequently, music freezes often and the players crash sometimes. This is probably a basic question and too elementary for this board, but I can't seem to find a way around this.

Just finished reading the review of the long out of production , basically unavailabe, except as an old, probably inoperable due to the foam rot issue that hit all 30+ year old drivers from that era. At the time the mfgs thought foam surround was better than the good ole' RUBBER, that still works on 40 year old Marshall speaker cabinets.!!! In a different thread JA makes mention of the valuable page space in a monthly magazine. Why the heck is it wasted on an obsolete, not produced, un available speaker no one will want , need or purchase.

Hi, I was wondering what I specifically need to upgrade (and to what price point) to completely rid my turntable of 'essing' distortion about 13khz or so. My stylus has a quoted range of 20-20khz, but they don't mention that a large portion of this range sounds like [censored]! The tonearm (an offset design) is balanced and the antiskate is set properly. Do I need a stylus with a range up to 50khz? A heavier, more precise tonearm? Any specific makes/models of stylus that are recommended?

I really enjoyed AD's review of the Audio Note AN-E. It was insightfull and enlightening. Peter Qvortrup only proves that "some people get it some of the time" and was brave and bold enough to take Peter Snell's ideas and old inventory and move ahead, when others did not know what they did HAVE! When a simple 2 way 8" design is maxed out AD knew what he was hearing was magical.

Hi all,
I'm trying out a Vellman (Dynaco) Stereo 70 tube amp, with integrated volume control from a local shop and I have a hum from my speakers which does attinuate when you raise the volume control with ot without a source connected.
I have the (I believe Integrated Amp since I have to use my pre-amps tapeout loop for connection to the amp) powered through a power line conditioner (tried without too) and sitting in my rack under the other equipment (3rd shelf down).

I have tried to connect a seperate ground from chassis to ground and no change.
