After an extended search for an integrated amp, I figured I should post this.
Over the past year and a half, I listened all the top lines available in the immediate area, and came down to a few finalists - the Ayre AX-7e, Simaudio I-5.3, Marantz PM-11S1, and the McIntosh MA2275. All were superb, and had their own signature sounds. The Marantz in particular has been overlooked by the audio press, which is puzzling - a fascinating product, relaxed, highly detailed and musical.
Dear mates
Greetings from Down under
Its not easy to get auditions and returns are not the norm, so I am painfully doing research for my new HT/ music setup.
Bear with me please:
I hae a Marantz SR 12 S1 THX 7.1 amp. I will buy everything else from scratch.
I will get a 7.1 system for a room about 10 by 6 by 3 metres.
I play HT / music in the ratio of 70 / 30.
I was looking at either a RS6 based front with the RS LCR and corresponding rears (Dipoles)
OR (I prefer with some saving):
Anyone know if Sterophile has considered reviewing the NuForce amplifier? In particular, the Reference 9?

It's reasonably priced, has gotten excellent reviews from other publications and I'd be interested to get Stereophile's take on it.
Thanks!
I got most of my Classical education, and collection, at Discount Records on High Street across from the OSU campus in the mid 70's. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and had actually auditioned every album that he carried in the Classical venue. Of every album that he recomended, not one single album could be considered average, either for the recording value or the performance, they were all winners. Sadly, you cannot get that kind of Service anywhere today and I really miss it.
The scenario:
You are in a closed room with Rod Stewart, Celine Dion, and Michael Bolton.
You have a gun with only two bullets.
What do you do?
What do you do?
Answer: Shoot Stewart twice to make sure he's dead.
Have you heard that abomination he just released?
I think it broke my radio.
At least, I hope it broke my radio, 'cause I don't wanna hear him on it again.
Lordy, it's THAT bad.
By the way, I have no known excuse for having on a radio station that might ever consider playing that damn noise.
Forget your Lexus, Mercedes or totally-Linned Aston Martin... How about your plain old domestic family sedan "music system"? My father gave me his well-serviced '87 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra because it wasn't worth much on the used car market or as a trade-in towards a NOS Mercedes. This Olds comes stock with a "Delco-GM/Bose Music System"...a "Delco-GM ETR (Electronically Tuned Receiver) Music System(s) which ha(s) been specially matched with Bose speaker systems to fit the acoustics of your car" (from owner's manual).
