Tara has an ad in TAS, nice colorful (expensive?) telling me that regular wire insulation causes DISTORTION!!! So their magic fix is AIR....hmmmmmm, in a different month, they where telling me AIR is a problem....you need VACUUM!!!! Now come on, I might be not able to hear any of this distortions, but my brain is starting to spin, my head hurts. AQ says I need 72V on my wires, Tara says to use air, then vacuum, Crystal says something else, Harmonix tells me something else, Siltech heats then freezes....is it begining to become a little contrictory.
Before I moved in to present house all my amps were working perfectly. Bryston, Marantz. Now the Bryston has a very audible hum and slight vibration. Same with the Marantz. Each one has a 3 prong power cord. When I plugged in my Carver the hum and vibration was gone...this has a 2 prong plug. Is this something to do with wiring in the house...Polarization, grounding etc. If so how do I check. This is very disturbing to me because it took me a long time to be able to afford these amps. Hate to ruin them!
Sincerely

Hi
Im a little bit confused by the current trends that seem to making out class D as something wonderful.
In the Public Address/Alarm market class D has been around for 10 years or so and is the defacto standard. Certain companies like Crown have developed their own propriatery technology that is similar, Crowns is I believe called Class I.
