Since most seven-year-olds can think better than the average evil overlord, maybe evil overlords should hire more seven-year-olds to design their diabolical contraptions. Or they could use this random generator. Hit refresh for a new set of talking points.

Japanese components vs. American. British

The more I listen to my Arcam Solo the more I am growing to love it. The warmth and head room are what really impress me the most. As I explore the world of hi end hi-fi I have found that most, if not all, of the best products come from right here in the U.S.. I am not surprised at all but in talking with some friends who also have hi end systems I have found that none of them have any Japanese made products. In fact most say that they tend to be "confined and tinny" when it compares to products from elsewhere.

How would you classify componenets from Britain and the US?

Reel To Reel questions

Hello everyone:

I am hoping that I can get some input into a few questions that I have. My father has two reel/reel decks: One is a Concord 444 recorder/player; which works well. He also has a TEAC auto reverse deck which has been out of commission for awhile. I told him that I would transfer some his old reel/reel tape to CD (I have a Mackie 12 Channel board) and a background in A/V, Audio/Video production...so I have a pretty good idea of what I am doing; but wanted to get some input from this board.
