Hey all, I have been a long time fan of the site but this is my first post. I am a college student up in Michigan which means during the winter months I have nothing to do except listen to music all the time while i study. Its an alright setup. I have a current setup with 4 cabinet speakers (they include 12" sub, mid and high) with an low end reciever. I dont have a lot of money to spend on upgrading, at least while I am still in school. I do appreciate good quality of sound and I am willing to invest as much as I can into it.
Hello,
Not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes. I've had my eye on a few mark 1 technics SL turntables, to replace an old sony one I have now. Could anyone shed some light on the differences between the models? Some seem to have more features like the SL 1600 is automatic I think, but the SL 1200 and 1800 look the same. Im assuming the SL 1800 was a cheaper version at time. What is the real difference if any? I'm looking at a SL 1800 at the moment.
Thanks alot if anyone can help here.
Phill
An article in the NY Times today about Prince thought it would be a nice addition to the debate..
Has anyone compared the top end CD/SACD/DVD-A playback of these devices carefully?
What do people consider the sound quality differences between these different components?
Has anyone compared the Meridian 861 DAC sound quality with the Meridian 808i? Are they equivalent?
I know some devices don't have SACD playback and others do, but don't have DVD-A playback, but how do they compare in areas where they do play back the same formats, especially CD playback?
Thanks,
Jeff
Does anyone know where I could find a Schematic for a Insignia HC040917. I have looked all over the internet and when I contacted Insignia they seemed to have no interest in helping me (why wasn't I suprised?) I have an intermittent problem that is next to impossible to repair without a schematic. Please help, this is my last resort.
You'd be more informed about the realitys of electrical concepts and what matters, and what is just nonsense. Try it. An educated listener is some of the best brands best customers. all others beleive in myths and magic. What color Mapingo discs are you using? Are your speaker wires on stilts or cups?
