Here Ye, Here Ye! Have you seen my film, The Audiophile Club of Athens? Over 100,000 views on various websites. Now there is a second release on DVD with 40 minutes of extras which include 9 mini films from 1 to 10 minutes long! The original film was 20 min and is included on the DVD. If interested, please contact me at savagebean@mac.com for more information about this or check my website: www.savagebeanfilms.com
OK, help me out here someone: I stuck my neck out on another audiophile forum and now I need backup. Some yayhoo was saying dipole speakers output falls off with distance more than monopoles. He even trotted out some impressive formulas. But I, on the other hand, inserted that in fact the opposite was true; i.e. that dipoles output falls off LESS than monopoles.
Which is better for connecting between a device such as a Squeezebox or CD player to an external DAC? I'm going to buy a DAC to improve the SB quality and all of the ones I've looked at both have coax and optical inputs. I've read through some threads on other boards but found no consensus and very confusing. Thanks.
Can anyone provide any advice as to the proper ORDER in which to begin purchasing a stereo system? I assume you either start at the front end with the CD Player/DAC-Transport, or at the back end, with the speakers. Then you would progress toward the other end of the system, depending on where you started. I own Robert Hartley's book on High End equipment, and he does not touch on this subject, at least that I could find. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. JW
