Could someone explain to me in layman's terms why it is that PCM streams going over the USB exhibit a much greater amount of jitter than when they're going over the coax interface?
It seems to me that USB already has clocking and error correction built-in as part of its spec. So, the USB should exhibit practically no jitter at all. Am I missing something?

Following Buddha's prompt on the "Raising Sand" thread and struts' enthusiasm for the re-issue of Steve McQueen, I thought I would start a best of the year thread. If there are enough responses I will collate a chart. Suggest simple rules.
