Tales of Passion, Music, and the Brain

It's still going on. It reminds me of one of the black and white films I watched in my avant-garde cinema class. Jean-Paul Sartre and Jean-Paul Sartre is staring into a mirror is staring into a mirror, with a with a with a knife in his hand knife in his hand, demanding demanding that the image that the image in the mirror mirror answer his questions his questions. He is outraged because the image in the mirror refuses to answer his questions. Answer his questions. Answer my questions! Demanding. Outrage!

Robert Hartley says the company is no garage operation gonna be around a long time, footnote from JA says March 2008 company no longer in existence....hmmmmmmm Now how can what Robert Hartley claims or ponders, or says is so can be beleived? And why would he make such a claim in reviewing a transformer, does that mean he is also a fiancial consultant, did he see the books of the company, (impossible if not public probably) why would he make a claim that since some 3 guys build a transformer in a box, they will be around a long time.

Expressive Technologies SU-1 moving-coil step-up transformer Measurements

What's this? A review of a $3000 moving-coil step-up transformer in this digital day and age? Yep. Although the market for such a product is small, the fact that the Expressive Technologies SU-1 step-up transformer enters previously uncharted state-of-the-art territory warrants these pages of editorial space. Furthermore, LP playback appears to be alive and well at the upper end of the high-end spectrum, a market segment addressed by the SU-1 (footnote 1).

A Rated CD, Ayre CX-7e or Marantz SA8001

Both Ayre CX-7e and Marantz SA8001 received A ratings in the recent Recommended Components. Does anyone have thoughts on how these two compare sonically on redbook cds(have no sacds)? I love the look of the Ayre but it is roughly $2k more. I am using the Krell 400xi integrated and Thiel 1.2 speakers. Thanks for any input. Dokosan

Need Some Audio "Umph!"

Hi, this is my first post. I am struggling to trying to get the clarity and volume that I want out of my Mp3s from itunes on my laptop (Mac Powerbook G4). I was wondering what is the best way to get more umph! I am a college student living in a "party frat" so loud clear music is essential I live for really loud music.
My current setup is:

mp3 better than a cd player?

Yes
In this way:
Put it at 320 kb/s in an external usb hard disk
Connect it at an teac wap 5000 as usb toslink adapter and then to an external quality dac
I use an harmony design costing 700 euro
I use a pre harmony da9 harmony design with a valve kt 88 amplifier and a pair of audes excellence 5

You will change any bad opinion about MP3
