Hi,
I am planning to add a subwoofer to my two channel system, which features two small bookshelf speakers. I'm looking to spend around $600. It's use will be strictly for my dedicated two-channel audio system so I want something suited to this, not home theatre. Also, I'm running an integrated amp. How would I connect the subwoofer? Thanks!

Just got through watching this on 60 Minutes. Have a watch and listen. It sure warmed my heart! The episode shows the program in Venezuela for teaching classical music to poor children and the amazing transforations these kids go through. There is hope for the world!

Hola,
I was chatting with a speaker builder the other night, and have been trying to figure out what he was telling me, but I can't find a good web source for the info.
The whole thing started when I asked him how a resistor or capacitor "knew" the difference between frequencies that it would "allow" to pass through it.
Rather than mangle a concept I am not sure I grasp correctly, I guess I'd like to pass on the question:
In a crossover, how does a resistor or capacitor "know" which signals to let through?
