I always enjoy Kal's column greatly. I was wondering, though, why he did not compare the Anthem D2 with ARC to the Integra DTC 9.8 with Audyssey Pro. It seems to me that would have been a more apples to apples comparison. ARC seems more akin to Audyssey Pro than to MultEQ XT. Both ARC and Pro are options on their respective units. From previous reviews, the DTC 9.8 sounds best with the Pro upgrade. I also concur with this on my own 9.8. No doubt, the Anthem should be the better sounding unit, but I would expect perhaps a narrower performance gap with ARC vs. Pro.

Hi All,
I'll be emigrating to the US in a couple of months and will be looking to purchase my first reasonably expensive setup. Both my dad and my brother have Cyrus equipment (built here in the UK) which I'm very impressed by. I have an initial budget of around $10,000, but would be wanting to have room for upgrading. My current idea is:
CD Xt SE -> DAC XP -> X Power

See the self-proclaimed "World's Finest" at Steinway Lyngdorf. It's almost worth a trip downtown to see it at Cedia.
Old man Steinway must be rolling in his grave. Let's pray for the iconic pianos, lest they be made in China. To see another great name reduced to a "logo" is sad and sickening.
