Lexicon MC-1 preamplifier/surround processor

Lexicon MC-1 preamplifier/surround processor

The roadster's throbbing rumble became a roar as the tachometer soared above 4 grand. Like a giant hand, its thrust jammed me back into the seat. Racing along low to the ground, feeling every curve and bump, I began to understand: the automotive virtues of smoothness and insulation had been swapped for firm road grip and the ability to transmit to the driver each jolt and curve in the surface below. Long before I'd climbed into the driver's seat of Porsche's Boxster S, I had known about its low-end snort and speed—the main reasons I was considering a lease—but I had not known about its ability to join sensation and purpose in such an intense bond.

High audio quality and inexpensive audio/video player (CD, DVD, SACD,Bluray, etc) ?

I am currently looking for a relatively inexpensive DVD (preferrably Bluray)player that has high quality/audiophile sound. I am currently running B&W 802ds/HTM1/804s through McIntosh 402 and 207 amps into MX136. My $79 dvd player isnt cutting it anymore! Any suggestions?

Woo Audio WA2

I'm thinking about getting the WA2 for use as my headphone amp and my preamp. Does anyone know how it compares to the WA6 as a head amp? I see that the specs are different, but I have no idea what the implications are. It looks like the WA2 has better frequency response (although I think they both extend beyond the 'phones capabilities, not to mention my ears), but I'm not sure what difference the ohms make. I'll be using them with my AKG k701s. Any input on how it might be as a preamp is welcome as well (in addition to any "must-do" upgrades) would be very much appreciated.

The Dresses, the Shoes, and the Clothes

The Dresses, the Shoes, and the Clothes

My heart is not broken. It is collapsed like the sun into the frozen Meadowlands. Sometimes, alone in bed at night, I get this awful, screaming pain in the side of my bony chest, in that empty space where I imagine you to be. It's not often that I do this, sit here. Listen to the same sad songs over and over again, sing along, cry, think of how these words were written for us. It's probably not a good habit to be getting into, but it seems I just can't stop. It's been more than two weeks now, and it isn't wearing off. Twelve songs, 40 minutes, over and over again. I can't stop. Remember when you said that no one else could ever love me like you loved me? I don't know if that was a gift or a curse, but I believe it is true.

Nice 'n' Easy Speaker Cables

Forums

So the last step in upgrades for my little 2.1 system is speaker cables. Currently I'm running a Linn Classik to Linn Katans mostly using my Pro-Ject Xpression III as a source. Up until a few months ago I was just using whatever generic radioshack cables I could find and was plenty satisfied with the great, simple setup I had going. I recently started upgrading my interconnects to Nordost blue heavens and an Acoustic Zen power cable and have been pretty happy with those too. They really opened up the sound and brought out a bunch of depth and clarity.
