Synergistics Research Acoustic ART-real sonic improvements?

So, with all the gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands over whether the Furutech demagnetizer is snake oil or not, I've got a good one for y'all..

Introducing the Synergistics Research Acoustic ART (ART is an acronym for Analogue Room Treatment):

Real or more high-end hoo-ha? I've heard the professionally set-up main listening room of a well-respected high-end Bay Area dealer with and without this "system" , if you can call it that.

Cambridge against KEF

Forums

Yo

I'm puzzled

I have a nice set of KEF 104/2 reference (circa 1992) build
and a set of Cambridge Audio R50's (circa 1976) I dusted off and brought out of retirement when I sold my Maggies and Krell KSA 150 (for financial needs and the fact I have a wifey) So now I'm dusting off some old stuff.

I'm running this on "The Pre-amp" by Musical Fidelity
and two Meridian 205 Mono-blocs - Source is my older Roksan Caspian CD player.

Wot is making me scratch my head and shift my fleas about is that the older Cambridges seem to be beating up the KEFs.

Double Deaf

How would any of you feel if you submitted to a double blind test that you were certain you would ace...and failed?

Would you be surprised? Deflated? Devastated?

I think I would walk away, smile, and think to myself "maybe I'm not as sharp as I thought I was".

It certainly wouldn't wreck me. In fact, I wouldn't lose a minutes sleep.

Ever happen to anyone out there?

question on ads atelier p2

hey ;] i just received an ADS Atelier P2 from my parents. this is my first turnable i've owned, and since my parents never really used it much, they didn't have much to recommend as advice. the equipment is in mint condition, my only issue is is that i need a new needle for it. i'm not sure where to start, finding out the brand because i think the brand has changed since then. can anyone lend me some advice? it'd be intensely appreciated ;]

I believe ...

Here's something that appeared in another audio magazine that I believe would also be the editorial position of Stereophile.

"As in all things audio, listeners should let their ears, not the laws of physics, be their guide."

Given the laws of physics can sometimes produce both right and wrong solutions in equal proportions (vented vs. sealed speaker enclosures for example or large vs. small driver diaphrams), how much do you agree with the statement?

On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being "not at all" and 10 being totally agree, please give your answer.

Tube break-in?

I have a little Bellari tube phono pre (the VP-530 - which is pretty much the WP-129 with an added usb out), and I decided to give a different tube a shot. I wanted to start cheap, so I went with the Sovtek 12AX7LPS, becuase some people had reported improvements over the OEM tube, and other sources suggested this one should be pretty quiet and is good for use in phono preamps.

My solution for the car crises/how to save the big 3

OK, I guarantee this has elements to piss off both liberals and conservatives so it must be good...............right ?

The US govt. shoud offer 6-10 year interest free loans to all QUALIFIED buyers who buy a US made car that is NOT a gas guzzler, no SUVs allowed.

Don't you think that would rescue the big 3 , foster energy independance through promoting fuel efficiency and lower the driving death toll because new cars are safer ?

This will please liberals.
