My criteria was:
Sealed/closed back headphones (no active "noise cancellation")...
Sound good directly out of an iPod...
99% portable use....
Not too expensive (cram into briefcase, etc)...
My solution:
BeyerDynamic DT-235 headphones. Am very pleased and happy with the sound! (and the comfort and the single cable)
Hi there,
I have been trying to purchase two of the recommendations and can't find them at my regular places. Here are the details:
1) Larry Greenhill recommended a Gorecki SACD by Zofia Kilanowicz. I have found that recording in CD; Amazon has it. But I can't find the SACD version.
2) John Marks recommended the Islandsmoen requiem SACD by the Kristiansand Symphony. I have not been able to find that one anywhere.
Any clues please?
Thank you!
Gabe.
I'm a big believer that you don't need to spend ridiculous amounts of money on your system to get excellent and enjoyable quality of music from your system. My Paul Speltz Anti-cables speaker cables, which sound arguably better than many, much more expensive, "high-end" speaker cables, cost me $70 for a 7 foot pair (yes, they are that good; they are also a TAS Editor's Choice for 2008).
In the spirit of doing our part for the audio economy, if you had $1000 to spend on audio equipment right now, what would you use it for?
any sound quality experience with Swans powered speakers? In overall size, and driver size, they look similar to AudioEngine 5's, but less power and $.
