WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama on Monday ordered a review of George W. Bush's guidelines for implementing legislation passed by Congress, at the same time saying that he would employ his own version of how he wants the government to follow the law.
Here we go again. The living document cartoon. Roll back the tape to the impeachment hearings.
I have an Audio Research LS26 preamp, and there is a 12V "trigger" output on it for controlling the power amp.
I have searched the owner's manual, the ARCDB database, and called a tech at Audio research, and no one can tell me what kind of plug is required for that jack. It appears to be a spring-loaded "phone" type plug, but the damn things come in about 4 metric and inch sizes, and I really don't want to guess at the size and have it short out the contacts.
So; who knows what size and type the damn thing is?
I want a new CD player to match with my Simply 8 Unison Research amp and Living Voice speakers. Ideally something that gives me excellent instrument transparency when playing acoustic, contemporary and classical music, but with an intimate, rounded, warm sound.....if that makes sense!! Some dealers have told me that because amp technology has progressed so far in the 8 years since I bought the Simply 8, I really need to think about not only a new CD player, but also a new amp/preamp to get what I want.
Storing downloads is always a balance between fidelity and hard-drive space/costs. If you had to pick one, which of the following formats would you choose for your downloads?
My CD transport (EMM Labs) conked out last week, and since it's gone for repairs, I've been listening exclusively to LPs. Yesterday, 16-yr old son comes over and asks me if I can show him how to use the record player! So far, his listening has been exclusively through his iPod or through his laptop (mp3), and he has never been curious about operating the CD player/DAC. Any of my CDs he liked, he ripped on his laptop and wouldn't care about the hifi.
Ok..several problems.
using firefox, latest build..
up until a few days ago, my desktop folders(or any other folder I had open) would show up as a sort of tab on the bottom of the browser... now I have to close the internet completely to open those folders... I liked having them tabbed on the bottom of the screen! hate having to close internet completely to get to em!
also...the clock used to show at the bottom of browser. no more.
what settings have I toggled?
