Considering a PrimaLuna tube cd player. It has a high output impedance. Understand how this works when dealing with preamps/amps. How does this work with a transformer based passive line stage like my Sonic Euphoria? I know of two tube units that will not work with the transformer line stage (EAR phono stage and Eastern Electric phono). EAR goes unstable. Don't think this is the same as bad impedance mismatch. Should I avoid all tube sources with this line stage?
just trying to understand the technical side of this.
thanks

Someone should investigate the record labels for using the term "remastered". I point to, as an example, the reissue if The Stranger by Billy Joel anniversary edition. At $40 this is not a cheap CD/DVD however the CD sounds as horrible as the first edition I purchased when it came out. I realize that sometimes you can't you remaster as the master tapes don't allow it but to use this term in hopes of generating more sales from unsuspecting buyers is a sham
The Crutchfield catalog is promoting "Hi-Fi 2.0". Saying that trends towards looks and convenience have robbed folks of good sound over the years, and they want to promote attention to higher quality, less compression, speaker placement, etc. Nice to see that from a company that has helped create and feed the market for the opposite. But never mind, it is a positive thing for them to do. http://www.crutchfield.com/app/Promo/Product/hifi.aspx
