Question for Wes Phillips - but any other comments welcome! Grace m902

Dear Wes,
After reading you review about the Grace m902, I decided to order one!
Now I am wondering what would be the best option between the m902 and a set of epos m22i...

I am building a hi-fi around my MacPros (Both at the office and home-office).

Considering the fact that the m902 already has a pre-amp, and that there is no way to by-pass it, I was wondering if conecting it to an integrated amp would harm in any way the end resulting quality...

For integrated amps, I am considering a Creek Destiny/NAD M3/Marantz Reference PM-15S1G or PM-11S2

Any 'ground lifters' here?

Hola,

I was goofing with grounding, and happen to think it affects the sound.

Horrors, Ethan!

I know some people who cheat all their grounds and like the sound, so I tried it, but didn't think it sounded as good as star grounding does.

Do any of you guys keep your grounds lifted?

Things you noticed?

I've also heard it can be a bit dangerous to lift all the grounds. Any tales?

Too many new toys !

Arriving today, all new and needing to be burnt in and tested and ready for FSI 2009 in Montreal in April. I don't think I planned this one out properly If you are in Calgary, I know you and want to help out, contact me.

Are You a Sharpener or a Leveler?

Are You a Sharpener or a Leveler?

A psychological theory (footnote 1) that I've always been fond of is the one that proposes the perceptual/personality dimension of Sharpening vs Leveling. As defined by the early Gestalt psychologists, Sharpening is an exaggeration of differences, Leveling a minimization of differences. In visual-perception research on this topic, when test subjects were presented with an asymmetrical figure, some later recalled it in ways that exaggerated the figure's asymmetry (Sharpeners), while others minimized or eliminated it (Levelers).

Is it worth it?

So I have always enjoyed my music and have been inspired by my father and roommate to invest in my own hi-fi system. Now that I have some money saved up I am ready to do so but I have one major hurdle: all my music is in mp3 form and I dont have the original CDs to rip them losslessly from

So is it worth it to invest upto
