darTZeel CTH-8550 integrated amplifier

As the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show neared its end, I wandered into Blue Light Audio's room, which was dominated by the innards of darTZeel's new NHB-458 monoblocks—think of a 3D "exploded" diagram and you'll be on target. So impressive was that display of brute engineering that I almost didn't notice the amplifier that was actually making the music: the CTH-8550 integrated ($20,300).

Joe and John are saying important things.

Joe Lieberman an John Mackey are on the right track.

America's foundation is self-determinism, and Lieberman and Mackey's take on the health care debate is important. No matter your stance on the issue, this is something so big, it deserves bipartisan energy and input.

Just as Saint Ronald used to spew the party line then choose the pragmatic result, so too will No Drama Obama and we will shift toward addressing these issues without 'free everything for everybody.'

What features do you think are missing from high-end audio components?

Reader Mike Agee wonders why displays on disc players don't default to "time remaining" or why more power amps don't come with attenuators. What features do you think are missing from high-end audio components?

11.4 trillion as of July 19,2009. Projected to 20.4 trillion in 2019.

US government's debt.

Everett Dirksen must be effing spinning in his grave.

1,000,000,000,000 times 20.

13 zeros, folks.

GDP was estimated at 14.4 trillion for 2008. So, the debt is currenlty less than one year's worth of GDP, but still.

The debt to GDP ratio is also very similar to that of Western Europe, so we are also not unique, but still.

Skew me to the right on this issue, I wish we had more budget hawks in DC and our state capitals.

20 trillion dollars.

When does PayGo start?

Dude looks like a lady, and a related sports topic...

Anyway, to the real topic...

South African athlete raises concerns that she is not an actual female, and the governing body of her sport wants an 'inspection.'

Sounds fair, but dig who they want her checked out by:

"...internal medicine specialists, gynecologists, psychologists, geneticists and endocrinologists."

Was Dostoevsky writing about the NFL?

Interesting how these NFL players are facing up to crime and punishment.

Plaxico Burress owned a gun. Perfectly fine exercise of his Second Ammendment rights. he's a prominent guy and potential trouble target, so he packs some personal heat. Burress even had an (expired) concealed carry (CCW) license from Florida, but no New York license. Still, he went to the trouble of trying to abide by gun laws, when he could.

So, he is minding his own with his homies at a local club when the gun slides down his leg and as he goes to grab it, he accidentally shoots himself in the leg.
