power transformer spins my turntable too fast

Hi,

So I recently moved to Canada from the UK, and I am running a project RPM1 through a MArantz PM7003 and a pair of B&W685s

So I bought a pwer transformer in order to power my my equipment at the correct voltage, and the strangest thing is happening, the record play is spinning faster than it should. The 33rpm setting is going at around 40rpms, its so weird.

I've struck gold.....

by an amazing twist of fate, I am now the owner of the contents of the building below... the gent, my gracious benefactor, was once, a long time ago, a code breaker and communications specialist overseas...he also repaired army equipment as well as having a business on the side repairing audio/video appliances..anyway, when he ETS(got out) of the army, he had thousands of valves with him and brought them over , set up shop in rural SC, and began a tv/radio repair service.

Listening - Art Dudley

I just finished readying AD's column "Love in the Time of the Choleric." It is the most enjoyment I've had reading any article in recent memory (yes, even against several articles in the Onion).

It also struck me as a genuine and honest article. It probably doesn't hurt that it confirms my suspicions about speaker wire. And, to be honest, I was rooting for the little guy (zipcord).

The most important moment on the world stage in the past 100 years?

It very likely is. Do your research find out why. Even if it does take place it will probably be derailed before it does any good. The following words will explain why:

All 178 Republican members of the House have now signed on as cosponsors of [the] Federal Reserve Transparency Act, HR 1207.

With a total of 271 cosponsors, Democrats must put pressure on another 19 Democratic co-sponsors in order to bring it to the magic number of 290

House bill kills private Insurance

The thieves in the House inserted a restriction no one is speaking of in their 'plan'...I am not talking about cost, where they lie like a rug, but about insurance...On page 16 they inserted this poison pill

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day"

AP: Sotomayor sidesteps on abortion, guns in grilling

Wait-a-minute, negro! JIMV may not be crazy after all...

Quote:

Appearing more at ease in the witness chair, Sotomayor defused a tense exchange on gun rights by joking about shooting a GOP critic and charmed Democratic supporters with nostalgic praise for fictional attorney Perry Mason

What am I hearing?

The obvious answer to the question above is "I don't know, you tell me." Fair enough. I'll try to answer that, but I could use some help explaining it.

First, I have absolutely been loving my new Scout. I kept my Rega Exact cartridge and have been listening to it for about a week. I really dig it, but I was paranoid that my Exact is wearing out. I decided to get it retipped, but I wanted to try something else to see what I was missing; everyone has raved about the Dynavector 10x5/VPI Scout combo, so I thought, "why not?"

Lost + Found

Lost + Found

I've realized why the opening few moments of Tom Abbs & Frequency Response's "Lost" make me want to just stop and cry. I find those moments so painfully beautiful because they remind me of my grandmother (my mother's mother) singing to me when I was a child. At first, I thought it was "You Are My Sunshine," but now I realize that it's "All the Pretty Horses." Listening again, I wish now I had someone to sing it to, someone to play it for.
