Conrad-Johnson Premier Five monoblock power amplifier Specifications

Many audiophiles who have only recently subscribed to Stereophile will be surprised to find that those clunky, heat-producing, short-lived tubes that reigned up through the mid-'60s are still Executive Monarchs in the mid-'80s. Why, for Heaven's sake? Because, despite everything, people like them.

Has Blue Note ever corrected the Norah Jones Come Away With Me SACD?

John Marks wrote in The 5th Element #26 and JA confirmed that on the original release of this Norah Jones SACD Blue Note apparently produced the two-channel version by running the resolution-limited and bandwidth-limited CD data through a DSD converter. Left Field Discoveries

New game. I'm sure we encounter a lot of moments when we discover something great COMPLETELY inadvertently. List them here, not just music-related. The only rule of this game is not to reply with snide jackass comments, like "Oh, that ain't so great." We have enough threads for the Tourettic assholes of the world around here, so respect: this thread is just for sharing your moments.

I'll go first.

1. The Largo from Vivaldi's Double Concerto for Oboes, PV535.

MP3 playback help

Hi,

15 years ago when I was in the US I was an avid SP subscriber. Since then I have returned home, to Greece, and discontinued, since I served the army and took me a while to setup the equipment i brought along. It is pretty outdated, but at the time quite descent sounding:

Museatex active x-over
2x Bryston 4B NRB amplifiers
Melos tube preamp
Rotel RCD-855 CD player w/upgrades
Pioneer AT-670 tuner
Custom made Dynaudio loudspeakers
Grado headphones
