Missing Jazz Review

The table of contents indicates that a new release by Stefano Bollani, the fine Italian pianist, was to appear in the "Record Review" section (ever think about the revising the title of this section to something a little current such "Recording Reviews"?) but alas no such review was to be found within the pages of the magazine. And I looked everywhere even under and behind the roller cabinet in the Harbor Freight Tools advertisement.

When and where will this lost review appear? On the Stereophile web site perhaps?

Desperate Man Blues

Desperate Man Blues

A friend loaned me this DVD of an avid 78 record collector and I loved it so much I felt the need to share.

You feel the need to forgive his dismissal of all music post 1933 because of his infectious enthusiasm and the fact that he has undoubtedly saved some classics and made them available to all.

Any other DVD recommendations out there?

Vienna Acoustics Klimt The Kiss loudspeaker Measurements

Vienna Acoustics Klimt The Kiss loudspeaker Measurements

Almost every assumption you might make about Vienna Acoustics' Klimt The Kiss loudspeaker by looking at it would be wrong. It is not a stand-mounted two-way loudspeaker. It's a three-way, with a coincident tweeter-midrange. And that ain't no stand—it's an integral part of the speaker. It does not have a conventional cabinet—there are two separate enclosures, complete with micrometer control of both vertical and horizontal axes. And those sure aren't plain-vanilla drive-units—they're about as unique as they come.
