Best plug is no plug

Hi all, I have been pondering the wisdom of spending many hundreds of my hard earned dollars on some Furutech power cable, IEC connectors etc (I'm still using standard power cables)
I am convinced that different audio (inters, speaker)cables do alter the sound but have not until now thought of power cables because of the scarcity of Hi Quality Australian 3 pin wall plugs -having now found a Aussie site that sells Furutech Aussie plugs has led to this ponderation?

Revel Performa Reviews?

Forums

I'm just wondering why there are no reviews of any of the current Revel Performa speakers...

Considering that both the M20 and F30 from the prior line were rated Class A, I would have thought someone at Stereophile might be anxious to try out their successors... I know I'm anxious to see what the mag thinks of them

Thinking About Quality

Thinking About Quality

I’ve been reading Matthew Crawford’s Shop Class As Soulcraft: An Inquiry Into the Value of Work, which argues that an intimacy with manual trades may revitalize a connection to the material world lost to those who spend their lives in offices or cubicles, staring at computer screens for eight to twelve hours a day, unable to quantify exactly what it is that they do. I’m digging it. It aligns, in many ways, with a philosophy John Atkinson has shared with me: Do doingfully.

Can expensive low powered amps drive inefficient speakers?

I currently have Martin Logan Prodigies driven by McCormack DNA 500. I am thinking of getting some seriously good amps in the price range of $20K+ to bring out the best in my speakers. The problem I run into is that everyone tells me their amps can do the job. My question is: Can they do a Great Job?

Is the power rating over-taken in significance by other design considerations in expensive amps?

Another problem is that the list of well reviewed expensive amps is quite long: CAT, Atma-sphere, Dartzeel, Audio Research, Lamm, VTL...

Newbie Preamp help needed please

Hi everyone. My name is Jeff, and I'm have a couple of questions I hope someone experienced can help me with.

I've been listening to and buying vinyl for about a year. My GF has a Panasonic "component" stereo that's probably from the late 80s early 90s, that has a twin tape deck, receiver, and a TT built in on top. It's pretty sufficient. But I learned that once the needle goes that's it. You can't replace it or the cartridge apparently. SO...
