Art Dudley's Gradient Helsinki 1.5 review

Either Mr. Dudley is ignorant of the following two audio terms or, he deliberately avoided using them in his review.
1.Controlled directivity (CD) & 2.waveguide
If the former is the unfortunate case, then I recommend he read up on CD. It's apparent to me from Mr. Ryan's "Manufacturer's Comments" and teachings at the lean simplifiaudio web site that CD was a major design objective of the Gradient and that the designers had read the teachings of Toole, Olive and Geddes.
If the latter is the case, then would Mr. Dudley kindly explain himself in a response post here.

Piano, hifi & Pictures at an exhibition

Hi

I saw Vladismir Feltsman play solo piano version of Schumann and Pictures, this occured at the Martin Theatre, Ravinia Chicago.

The Schumann was first, music was OK but i have to be honest the sound was uselss, i was sat in Row B but it was to low and it was like i was hearing a distant sound.

Summer flicks!

Got to see "Predators" last night and loved it.

A few problems with continuity, but all in all everything I could hope for in a Predator movie!

I read the reviews, and it averaged a D or D- from the critics....but wouldn't a Predator movie kind of be beyond criticism?

If some dipshit in the New Yorker says, "Fellini it isn't," wouldn't that mean the guy should have never been allowed beyond the popcorn counter to begin with?

My endorsement: "Predators. Fellini it isn't!"

Summer reading....wherever did Stephen's book post go?

Taking a weekend between summer walkabout and time for some quick book shopping.

What's on y'all's favorites for this summer?

I went throught the Dragon Tattoo Girl trilogy by Stieg Larsson and it made for adequate entertainment. Not literature, but easy on the ol' noggin.

Not sure who I'd envision playing her in the upcoming USA flick.

Halfway through "The Passage" by Justin Cronin, and I have advice for you:

First, read "A Canticle for Lebowitz" by Walter M. Miller, Jr.

Surely not another coincidence?

Actually, I don't really care personally, but over the last few months there seems to have been a bit of discussion of when an advertiser gets their ad right next to a recommendation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought JA said it was never planned that way (and the magazine has a policy against it) but it can happen accidentally on occasion. Now that I've read about it I guess it makes me check out the ads next to any copy I read just to see if such a connection is getting made.
