Got a dumb question..I see Wadia has a iPOD dock that splits off a digital signal that can go to an outboard DAC and then to ones system...
Why?...By that I mean, why the extra step...does anyone make an iPOD DAC...one where one can plug the iPOD directly into the DAC and then on to the system?
It seems to me one can skip a step with all the expense of an unneeded iDOC and make the idea simpler...
Does anyone make something like that? (at a price that does not require skipping a mortgage payment)

god damn, that is horrible
I was wondering this the other day. A few of my girlfriends in the past have made the comment that I was suffering from obsessive/compulsive disorder because of my love and ever evolving audio system.
Naturally, I disagreed with them on their assumptions. But in all fairness, I have tried to see it from their point of view as best as I could. Sometimes I think that there might be some credibility to thier claims. I admit that when it comes to the cleanliness of my home that I could very well be OCD and I am fine with that. Am I wrong? What do you think?
Before I bought a decent Hi-Fi system, I had a small shelf system with a 3-CD changer and enjoyed the mix of songs. I now have a Cambridge Audio Azure 840C, single disk CD player with a DAC, but miss having multiple CD's to play. I'm numbed by the choices. I could buy a CD changer and plug it into my DAC or I could buy a wireless squeezbox Duet and do the same or I could have a dedicated music server plugged into my DAC. I'd like to get some feedback on those options and the pros and cons of each.
This is NOT a joke:
Looks pretty interesting, Made in the USA at what seems like a very sane price point. The discussion at HeadFi seems pretty positive. I am pretty new to decent headphones (got a pair of Grado 325i's late last year), and have been looking at various Headphone Amps in the same price range as the Asgard.

"Well I have to admit that this is genius. The guys from the Pirate Bay have a a 30million SEK fine which they say they won't pay. However they have come up with a plan where all their users can join in which works like this.
