Got the lastest issue the week before last and read the Gradient Helsinki review in full by Art Dudley the other day. First off, I find the comments "graceful and elegant" to be an oxymoron for a speaker that looks so much like a toilet. Everytime I see it I think of the 'ole Armitage Shanks (or I would if I lived in Britain).
Hello everyone,
I ma quite new to the world of HIFI and i got some problem to choose the best HIFI components.
I got SOAVO 1 pianoblack loudspeakers and i wonder which amp/cd player i may add to them?
As it's quite difficult to listen Luxman products (L505u + D38u...are they good?) where i am (France), i think now about these 2 brands:
- Marantz KI pearl Amp + KI Cd player (not possible to listen this amp :-( )
- Denon pma 2010 + dcd 2010.
Mapleshade catalogue arrived today, they are promoting a custom designed isolation stand for your laptop to enable your MP3's etc to sound better !!!
Apparently memory must suffer vibration, those pesky electrons dont like being shaken up.
When will the hifi world stop be so naive, you can have a cheap laptop with a $3 power supply but you need a $300 stand for better sound quality !!!
I'm looking at this Numark TTUSB (http://www.numark.com/ttusb) for several reasons. Will this player give me decent sound quality without tearing up my records?
What attracts me specifically to this product is the built in preamp. I have a set of powered Audioengine A2's right now, so in my eyes, this would make listening to vinyl affordable and simple, since I can hook the player directly up to the speakers. I don't really have money for a receiver as of now.
