On Building Quality

Some MP3 files DO sound BETTER on cheap playback equipment. MP3 files CAN sound good on high resolution playback equipment. MP3 quality CAN be very good - or awful - or anywhere in between and ultimately depends on the talent of the recording/mixing/mastering engineer.

Is this a lot of juice?

In the papers following my amplifier, it says that it is capable of 150Wpc i 8 Ohms, 230Wpc i 4 Ohms, but a mindblowing +/- 40 Amperes of peak current.

In my book this is pretty much, but knowing my amp very well (on year 4 now), I have no reason to not believe it. How much current is your amp capable of letting go, compared to the Wattage?

Ah, how the times change. When I reviewed</A> Etymotic Research's ER-4S in-ear headphones in the July 1995 Stereophile, they seemed expensive to me at $330, but well worth that seemingly high price: at the time, they were the best headphones I'd heard. Nowadays, with reference headphones costing well north of a kilobuck, the price of the ER-4S seems relatively reasonable.
