B&W 683 Amplifier Help

Hello,

I recently just bought my first pair of good loud speakers in the B&w 683's. These are a huge step up from my previous cheap Klipsch bookshelfs. Before I purchased the system I kind of went the backwards way about it and purchased all the extra source equipment knowing that one day it would be for a great pair of speakers. Just to give you an idea I currently have for music:

Onkyo TX-SR707
Pro-Ject DebutIII
Oppo BDP-83

now this system is going to double as my television system so would also have:
Tivo Premier
Xbox360
PS3

NEVADA!

You guys in Nevada got some major problems with voting. It's getting hilarious. Free food? Gift Cards? Ballots already marked for Reid? Technicians for voting machines are members of the Service Employees International Union? How far can this plane fly on just one engine? Straight to the scene of the crash.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that this thing is going to be a total disaster. Reid needs to be put on suicide watch by the time this is done. Right next door to Charlie Sheen.

High Resolution Download Business Model

How will the music industry business model change with high resolution downloads?

If one can pay a one time fee to download a high resolution .flac file that's equivalent to the original master onto their PC, make as many copies as they like to send to friends, or perhaps even sell on the black market, how will the music industry sustain itself?

Won't artists and recording producers simply stop making new music albums if the profit margin becomes to small to make a fair profit?

I don

ECM interview

I just want to give public props to Robert Baird for his wonderful interview with Manfred Eicher. Eicher and ECM have brought me so much of the music that means the most to me. Eicher's taste in music has literaly changed my life. Great choice for an interview Robert, and well done!

Now On Newsstands: Stereophile, Vol.33 No.11

The November 2010 issue of Stereophile is now on newsstands. Immediately after shipping the issue to press, we had to redirect our focus to shipping the 2011 Stereophile Buyer’s Guide. And almost immediately after shipping the Buyer’s Guide, we had to redirect our focus to shipping the December 2010. While the December issue was in its very final stages, we had to fly to Denver to cover the outstanding Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. It’s been a whirlwind and I can honestly say that I hardly remember working on the November issue.

Vivid Audio V 1.5 - John Marks review in "The Fifth Element"

As a prospective owner of a pair of these, I was very interested in seeing that the V 1.5 were reviewed so favorably by JM and that they are the best speaker he's heard under $10K as well as a Class A - Restricted LF choice.

That said, there are only a couple of paragraphs about the performance of the speakers prior to JM adding $8.5K worth of interconnects and speaker cables to his system -- which is more than the retail price of the V 1.5s!

It seems that most of the review was based upon the speaker's performance after the addition of these cables.
