Well, we were able to move back to our post flood house on Saturday!!!! The house is full of boxes and furniture of course, and I had to look through boxes to keep me from going commando at work today, but that bit of TMI is a digression.
With absolutely NO set up, my stereo sounds MUCH better than it did at the apartment. I think our living room just sounds good! The speakers are against a different wall, one is on the tv furniture, one is on a stack of boxes, and the sound is so much superior that my wife noticed it while she was upset with me for hooking up some tunes!
Speaking of old formats, one major appeal that is lost with downloads is packaging. Or are those packages just waste? How important is the packaging (liner notes, album art, etc.) that comes with physical formats?
I read in the review that Mr. Rubinson tried the Touch with a firmware mod that changed the USB input to an output, which he fed into another device.
Why is this any more interesting that any other digital output? The Touch has RCA and optical already.
How can USB be used in ways that the other digital outputs cannot?
Hi
Its time for more CSO concerts starting with the Glagolitic Mass in a few weeks.
My question is regarding the posts i was doing, is anyone interested in reading concert reports or is it just self indulgence on my part ?
I can see that virtually nobody seems to post or read in teh classical section, is this because nobody is left or that no interesting posts come up ?
Alan
So as the records come out of storage and into their rack I am finding some interesting things.
I did not know I had so many Joan Armatrading records. OR so many Bob Dylan. I knew I had some Jimmy Smith, but I had no idea I had so many! And I think I found the first record I ever bought.
It is Chacago II, the silver one. I remember going down to the 7-11 with $5. The record was more expensive because it was a double. The price tag is still on it, $3.94. I guess I was 11 when I bought it. Sure was good to see it!
