Pandora thru TiVoHD

I just set up an account with Pandora to run thru My TiVo. I see higher resolution files are available for the yearly subscription. The price sure is acceptable enough, but my knowledge if internet music sites are pratically zero. Can Pandora actually deliver something over redbook cd quality? And if they can, can a TiVo, pass it to My Mack Preamp? I currently have the Tivo hooked to the Mack by a digital connection, but could go to the analog 2 channel if it would make a difference.

John Marks - 24/96 resolution

Would someone please answer this question – How does the average user determine whether the “actual resolution" of the music in a file matches the “resolution capability” of the file format?

I ask because my ITUNES tool bar includes a utility named “Convert File to Apple Lossless”. When used with ITUNES download files, however, the utility simply transfers the MP3 resolution music stored in the Apple Compressed format – to the same MP3 resolution music stored in the Apple LossLess format. So, we start and end with the same MP3 music - even though the format of the file has changed.

2.0 Computer speakerset

Hello

I've been searching for new 2.0 speakers to accompany my iMac and the AudioEngine A2 seem interesting. I've read some good reviews in some magazines but when I read some local forums (in Dutch), then they aren't that positive about these speakers.

Do some of you have experiences with these speakers? Or can you recommend other speakers that cost about the same?

Thanks!

So many things in this world are designed for convenience, not for excellence. That's all right if you have a choice, but it becomes a problem when products designed for convenience become universal standards and are thus foisted on everyone—including enthusiasts, who must then live with a product aimed at the lowest common denominator.

The digital interface between CD transports and digital processors is a perfect example of this dilemma. The Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format (S/PDIF) standard was designed so that connecting two digital products required only one cable. This single cable carries left and right audio channels as well as the timing clock essential to making the system work.
