I am on a tight budget buying a house etc. My wife "loves" the look of the Dynaudio Contours S3.4s, and I love the sound. However, that in itself will eat up a majority of my two channel audio budget (listening room 15ft w 12ft d 9ft h). I need descent amplification to last me a year or so until I upgrade.
My choices:
1. I have an old Adcom 5400II amp. What used preamp from Audiogon should I match with it? Or should I chunk it for better sound?
From Geoff Dyer's "But Beautiful: A Book About Jazz":
"If you love jazz you have to love Ben. You could like jazz and not like Ornette, maybe not like Duke even, but it's impossible to love jazz and not love Ben."
I really think this is true.
