Omega, Thuono, AlsyVox: $800,000 Worth of Fun
After meeting Thuono Audio co-founder Eleonora Bonollo at the brand's static display in 2024, it was a pleasure to see the Italian entrepreneur demonstrating a full playback system at this year's High End Munich.
The great-sounding rig, largely unfamiliar to me, featured the Thuono Audio TH400 turntable and TH12 tonearm ($52,000, all prices approximate when converted from Euros), an Omega Audio Concepts Zenith CD Player ($107,000), and the four-chassis Omega Audio Concepts Accordo integrated amplifier ($85,000). These components powered the AlsyVox Michelangelo loudspeakers ($530,000/pair).
Rounding out the setup was Omega Audio Concepts cabling, including speaker cables ($39,000/pair). An Omega Estremo AC distribution box ($16,000) provided clean power. The turntable rested on Thuono Audio O2 footers and vibration control devices ($3300 for a set of four). The electronics sat on a Critical Mass Maxxum Ultra rack ($60,000).
