Bat For Lashes: Two Suns

Remember that crush I had on Bat For Lashes' Natasha Khan?

Still got it.

Back in August, I wrote:

Natasha Khan's Bat For Lashes spent much of this summer on tour with Radiohead, and their debut album, Fur and Gold, was nominated for 2007's Mercury Prize. Fur and Gold is not available on vinyl. (Which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me because I am positive that my Natasha would love vinyl.)

The band is now working on their follow-up. I hope it'll be on vinyl.

Well, I have since pre-ordered the vinyl release of Fur and Gold (months ago, but still have not received it). And the band has just released their follow-up, Two Suns, and, yes, it is on vinyl. The first single off the album is called "Daniel." Check out the video.

Do you hear that hook that opens the song? The first few notes remind me of some song from the 80s, but I can't figure it out. (Can anyone tell me what it is?) Makes sense, though, because Natasha Khan is 29 years old, and she told MTV News:

I love all my kind of unusual and avant-garde music, but at the same time I love pop music, and I love groundbreaking and unusual pop music especially. And I think we're kind of lacking in that a bit.

So, on this new album, I wanted to focus on writing pop songs, because I was trying to get back to that kind of place, to the amazing pop songs I used to hear on the radio as a child.

Do you see why I love her?
