Clearly from last week's survey, most of you feel that SACD and DVD-Audio are on the skids. But is it terminal? Do you think that high-resolution audio has a future?

In the "Letters" section of the September 2004 issue of <I>Stereophile</I>, veteran audio engineer Richard Burwen essentially says that some audiophiles like tube amps because they act as tone controls. Do you agree?

The record companies have agreed to create a new format called <A HREF="http://www.stereophile.com/news/080904dualdisc/" TARGET=NEW>DualDisc</A> to allow a CD on one side and a DVD video or audio program on the other. What do you think of the idea?

With the advent of home theater and Internet audio, doomsayers claim that high-end audio's days are numbered. But new high-end audio companies seem to appear at a rapid clip, and vinyl continues to thrive. So is high-end audio gasping for breath or breathing easy?
