Jenny listened quietly as Leland and I discussed music, the way certain songs and certain albums enter your life at just the right time — like running through the rain in Seattle or driving through the mountains in California — when you're ready for them.
And soon we were dancing.
"Sure, go ahead and post it," Leland said. "Believe me: I don't embarrass easily."
It's always this way. One day into the Show, and I'm ready for it to be over; exhausted by all I've seen and heard, overwhelmed by all I have to learn, legs sore from getting to know the maze of halls, throat sore from exchanging sudden salutations.
By the end, however, I'm wishing for more time. Wishing I'd been able to keep my promises of, "I'll be back later," and "I'll see you then."
