Mission Audio M35i speakers
HK 3480 Receiver
NAD C521 CD

I auditioned my speakers on a Jolida tube amp and loved the sound, but when I hooked them up to my solid state amp it just lacked that special presence it had with the tubes. Now the bass is very smooth but the highs seem harsh. (Drums sound great, vocals and strings do not).

I am using a nad c521bee cd player, yamaha av receicer rx595 and 2 pair speaker... psb alpha B and acoustic energy ae120 3 way flr stand. I woud like an amp that can bring out the best of my speakers, deep, natural and lively sound with nice detailings. I have some ideas... NAD370, ROTEL...

Major head scratcher!! Zone 2 bleed over

I am installing a Denon 786S receiver using line out zone 2 to power an amp. I am getting continuous bleed over from zone 2 to my surround sound speakers. It's faint without the the amp connected but very noticeable with the amp. The bleed over can be heard even when the line out cables are'nt connected to the receiver. I have even changed out the receiver and I get the same results. This is a standard surround sound setup. I will take all advice.
Thank you.

Digital Radio's Broadcast Flag: Threat or Menace?

Remember that whole "broadcast flag" kerfluffle? Well, it ain't over yet—not if the Home Recording Rights Coalition (HRRC) and the Electronic Freedom Foundation (EFF) have anything to say about it. If you don't remember the broadcast flag imbroglio, or if you thought it had been vanquished by the DC Circuit Court in May 2005, here's an update.
