I'm curious, Last time I was speaker shopping , the Magnepan 3.6Rs were on the Stereophile Recommended Components A-Restricted Extreme LF list (Oct 2003 - with a $$$ and a star, no less). I've thumbed back thru more recent lists, and they seem to have fallen off.
Any comments on why they fell off the list. For my ear, its a tough choice between them and the Quad 988s.
Thanks!
In M Fremer's review of the Continuum turntable, you wax poetic about the CD-R you recorded form this rig. I'm still trying to optimize CD-Rs (or just great .wav files) captured from my turntable. Can you describe what equipment and software you used to record digital music from your analog setup?
Thanks!
So now i have to sell my $70,000 rockford turntable and get this month's BEST And now buy teh Kangaroo special for about $103,000. and all i wanted to upgrade is a CHEAP pair of Legacy WHISPERS for ONLY about $15,000. And add 2 more AVA DH500 amps for a total of around 4,000 watts using teh AVA phase inverter (2) so I can drive teh Whispers with 4 amps.
I just got a pair of rectilinear lll speakers. I really know nothing about them. Can anybody here help me out?
I'm also looking at an ADCOM GFA 555 amp. Would they go together? I'm new to this and need to learn alot.
