Classic Action

Jonathan Tinn of Blue Light Audio came to the show equipped with his collection of classical composer action figures. Mozart is on his shoulder with Beethoven in the other hand. Wagner is still in the package. Collect them all.

subwoofer question

i just got altec lansing VS2221 speakers for my pc. they sound really great, but i have a few complaints about subwoofer magnetic radiation (i think it's subwoofer, cause sattelites are magnetic shielded). i placed sub under my table and it's about 60cm's from the monitor (like the manual said) and it's still making some minor distortions on my monitor, but only when i look cable tv on pc. so i think, could it be that the sub is too close to antenna cables.

My definition of great writing is writing that makes you care about stuff you never even knew interested you. By that definition, this Warren St. John article explaining why he cares about college football qualifies. I think I'm going to buy <I>Rammer, Jammer, Yellow Hammer</I> for the flight home from Vegas.

CARY CDP 303/300 vs. Meridian G08 CDP

CARY 303/300 CDP costs around US$2,450 and Meridian G08 costs $3,590. Both are upsampling CDP. From what I've seen from web, articles and friends, CARY 303/300 got so many good comments/coverage (Stereophile runners-up 2005), but i can't find any comments on Meridian G08. If budget is not a constraint, should I buy G08 ?

CES Innovations: TKO

CES Innovations: TKO

The CES's "Innovations" exhibit at the Sands Convention Center is intended to honor the most technologically advanced and ground-breaking consumer electronic products at the Show. Most of the display cases were still waiting to be populated on set-up day (though we spotted B&W's cute cylindrical subwoofer as well as Krell's Dean Roumanis wheeling in some big boxes). But some of the choices for an award raised our eyebrows, as with this robot intended to train boxers in the comfort of their own homes. <I>Stereophile</I>'s Stephen Mejias strikes a suitably pugilistic pose.
