Has anyone seen or heard this unit??
I've found the specs on a few sites but thats about it.
How does it compare to Denon 4306, Rotel 1067 and/or Rotel 1068/1075 combo, AVR300, Outlaw etc at the +- a few 2k pricepoint.
The 5x125w, 4xcomponent in, 2xHDMI seem attractive...
but apart from features how does is compare in sound for stereo and HT.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
A buddy turned me on to wolfgangsvault.com , a website that streams concert recordings that Bill Graham made from concerts at his venues over the years.
Holy cow.
Thousands of shows, on unplayed tapes, recorded from the board, just sitting and waiting for us all those years.
I hope they end up with better than 128K versions to add to my own vault!
Sitting here listening to Hendrix do Voodoo Child from the Berkeley Community Theatre show on May 30, 1970.
What a treasure trove.
Aloha,
You know how it is, February 14th, Cupid's Day, a time when spring is in the air and a man's thoughts take flights of fancy as he ponders...hi fi.
So, anyway, I gots a question:
I see the speaker measurements JA does for reviews and it makes me wonder if we could actually end up plotting/inventing a room's frequency response, as well.
Let's say we take all his open air measurements and then compare each speaker's curve to his in-room measurements, and then subtract the differences.
I will be moving into an apartment in the future and would like to connect my receiver in one room to my laptop in another room. I am using a phillips external sound card with my laptop currently and my sony str receiver only has rca inputs. My sound card does have optical and digital coax outs but i can
Loudspeakers are the most important link in the sound reproduction chain. Mainly because, they have the highest frequency response variations, highest Harmonic, distortion, highest intermodulation distrotion, highest spurious responses like chuffing, resonances etc, highest negative effect on other components acting as nonlinear loads. Only badly designed, over driven single ended tubea amps and listenning room effect can come close! kaanseler@gmail.com
Some time ago, I tried Optrix and liked the improvement it made in CD's. I keep looking at a slightly more expensive tweak about which I've read some good reviews, the Marigo mats. They come in two varieties-one at about $100 and another at double that. Anyone here tried one? Are they worth it?
