Hi, I have a question regarding the little Optimus cd-3400. It was a portable cd player from Radio Shack of all places that got amazing reviews here at Stereophile. My question is, does anyone know if its follow-up, the Optimus cd-3640, also sounded amazing or was this a one-time only thing?
Thanks,
Aloha,
Been reading through the July issue and came across Mike Fremer's mention of 25K gold coils on the Clearaudio cartridge.
Is that, like, similar to "Six 9's" copper or something?
I always thought 24K was "pure," so when did the upgrade package take effect?
*Hoping that this is not some new Hi-Fi designation, otherwise we will soon have 27K Machina Dynamica gold.

Not so long ago we had the pleasure of auditionning Mr. JR Orion system from LinkwitzLab, a 3 way active system with each of it's 8 speakers individualy driven by its own amplifier channel in an open baffle configuration in his listening environment.
The least that can be said about this experience is that the system represents in many ways the ''Holy Graal'' in sound reproduction for many audiophiles.
Current set up -- NAD 320BEE, NAD 521i, Wharfedale Pacific Evo 8s.
I'm currently looking to replace my bookshelf Wharfedale's with floorstanding speakers. Budget is around $1000 (plus or minus a few hundred). I have heard/read some good things about the Monitor Audio RS6s.
Recommendations? Obviously the NAD 320BEE isn't the most powerful integrated amp -- does it have enough power to power the Monitors and/or other floorstanding speakers?
As a side note, I mostly listen to Jazz.
Help is appreciated.
... by the way Mikey handled LPs in the new TONE?
