Something to get off my chest

/The post below is all my personal humble opinion/

Hello :-)

I have something on my chest that i would like to get rid off. First of all, i am a huge fan of planar speakers and have had many myself. But Apogees are my absolute fav. and have restored, tuned and tweaked them. They were much ahead of their time, and with today technologys like digital room correction, better crossover parts, better digital active crossovers, new and better ribbons (THANK YOU GRAZ in Australia and Perigee Acoustics)

I am upset to read this "advert for A-Sys Audio in Germany"

Nancy Friedman at Away With Words guides us to the Coleman Partners website for a well-written essay called "Marketing & the English Language: A Guide to Better Communication," which is worth reading. Ms. Friedman does warn that the site's design is too clever by half, so you'll have to click on the external link, then click "Explain," and the click "Logical" to get to the "off-white papers," of which there are at present, just the one.

$150 Toshiba DVD vs. McCormack upd-1 Deluxe; Any Differences

Within the Sterophile site you can find comments suggesting that $150 play can sound quite good and that the $4000 player is a bit better. Other comments suggest that the UPD-1 is as good or better than vastly more expensive players. Cutting hairs was a description of comparing other highend gear. I'm preparing to buy the Conrad Johnson edition of the UPD-1, but I'm having doubts before I jump. Other than speakers, how much differences are there between this stuff. Diminishing returns may be much more than I expected. With that in mind I'll probably still jump at the upgraded UPD-1.

Swoosh and Whir

Swoosh and Whir

The fax machine is singing its song. Beep bloop beep bloop bleep beep beep. And bloop. It goes on and on. Kristina feeds the machine and the machine eats, requests for verification on pricing and availability of amps and speakers, tonearms and cartridges, accessories and racks and so much more. "Recommended Components" is singing its song. Swoosh and whir.
